Replacing a UPS battery without losing the rack
Most small line-interactive units let you swap the battery hot, but the manual is careful not to promise it. I shut down everything that was not critical, left the router and NAS on, and swapped the pack in under a minute.
The new battery took about six hours to reach full charge and the runtime estimate settled the next day after a calibration.
